Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

A DILLEMMA

A DILEMMA
I needed someone
for whom I could waste my life,
stab it, tear it and shed blood
with my little pen knife.
I needed someone
to take away my soul for her breath;
to be thought about
until I lie in the bed of death.
I needed someone
and she became it.
I know she loves
but it's true I misfit.
