Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

Destiny Awaits

Yesterday we had both set out together
Though with equal footing and pride
The shoes we wore be not the same
And same be not the time we took rest.

You shouldn't deny you had hoped
I had learnt gardening red roses
I must confess I had expected

You knew  red is not the only beauty

At the next junction we will meet
And it is so certain oh!
I will smile as I see you smile
You will smile as you trained to smile.

The road is long and winding
Little rough, a wee wild
But the destiny awaits sweet love.
