Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

You Tried To Blind Me

ViBid Rose
Messed Up Humanity
You tried to blind me
Yet I can see.
No you've not failed,
I don't watch.
You think I have
a bulletproof heart
that fails to notice.
But it feels
every little pain you inflict.
I don't think I should ponder
over every little conspiracy you make.
My head is already so heavy;
been for long in tears and rain.
And now I want tranquility and peace
that only solitude could give
And now I want to rest;
want to go far away from your place.
Far, far away,
where there will be a room for humanity.
Because you know,
I can see.
