Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

My Achilles Heel

Being exposed to all kinds of treacheries
For more than a quarter of century
I too have learnt
How they smile in their lips
And stab from the back.
.
But I love acting imbecile
Honestly
For I love the God
That dwells inside
Everyone of us.

And they find this
My Achilles’s heel
To grave me down the wallow
And to ablaze me in the hell
Alive and alone

But I faith
In omniscience of God

I try live by the words
Of Tolstoy
"All who repent is forgiven
If not by you
Then by your God".

And so I forgive
Before they really have to afterthink.
