Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

Cry of a Child

Cry of a Child

How democratic it is
To possess in excess
Leaving so many men's pocket empty?

From a poor corner
Of a rich city
Comes a cry to my ear.

Cry of a child!

It provides me with a reason to fight.
