Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

Happiness

HAPPINESS

i  laughed.  i wept.
                           i walked. i slept.
                                                  i listened. i spoke.
                                                                       i threw. i kept.

i desired; Gave up.
                           i tried; Gave in.
                                                    i parted. i met.
                                                                      i spat. i prayed.

So so…  so much for what!
Today I ask myself.

Surrounded with thick smoke inside my room
I want to know where the trip is,
                                                         Where the trip is?

Smoking guns and guns of Marijuana
I want to know where the happiness is,
                                                         Where the happiness is?

And finally, as it has been destined for so,
Being a stone I exclaim “I know!” “I Know!”
Happiness is something that comes to you
                                                              but doesn’t last.
Happiness is something that comes to you
                                                              but doesn’t touch.

Happiness is not to become,
Happiness is but to see.
Happiness is not to belong,
Happiness is but to free.

Happiness is inside yourself,
All you need is just to feel.
Happiness is around everywhere,

All you need is just to feel.
