Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

Destiny Awaits

Destiny Awaits

Yesterday we had both set out together
Though with equal footing and pride
The shoes we wore be not the same
And same be not the time we took rest.

You shouldn't deny you had hoped
I had learnt to garden red flowers
I must confess I had expected that
You knew red ain't the only beauty.

At the next junction we will meet
And it is so so certain oh!
I will smile as I see you smile
And you will, as you are trained to.

The road is long and winding
Little rough, a wee wild
But the destiny awaits sweet love.
