Salman Rushdie

"A poet's work is to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and to stop it from going to sleep."

Salman Rushdie

A Sad Song

A Sad Song

In my life once
A girl I'd loved
So beautiful was she
From wherever I see.

We would fly high
We used to run
I can't see her
Now she is gone.

Tears roll from eyes
For she I cry
Only a sad song
For she I write

So alone I am
Help if you can
Spread wide your arms
Let me into run.
